A TRANSITION INTO SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

Mining and ore processing operations require high electrical power. The current AMNT power plant uses coal and diesel fuel. AMNT has started shifting its power plants with cleaner and more sustainable energy sources as the need for electricity supply increases to expand ore processing and smelting operations.
The new power plant facility, which is currently under construction, will use natural gas, a cleaner energy source with lower carbon emissions. AMNT also uses the most efficient gas turbines and cutting-edge low-Nox technology to ensure that AMNT has followed the world’s strictest environmental emission guidelines. The transition effort is driven by AMNT’s determination to support decarbonization efforts, especially with the growing demand for copper products, in line with the world’s vision to achieve a clean economy.
INDONESIA’S LARGEST SOLAR PV POWER PLANT

AMNT has also transitioned to solar PV by inaugurating 26.8 MWp of ground-mounted photovoltaics. Until January 2023, the facility, which began its commissioning in June 2022, is the largest Solar PV in Indonesia for mining operations. The Solar PV power plant is considered a success since Sumbawa’s irradiation rate is one of the highest in Indonesia.
