Alexander is an Indonesian citizen serving as President Director of PT Amman Mineral Internasional (AMMAN) since 2015. He is a member of the company’s founding team and played a central role in the acquisition of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Currently, Alex also holds the position of Non-Executive Director of Macmahon Holdings Ltd, an ASX-listed mining contractor. From 2011 to 2015, he held the position of President Director and CEO of PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal Tbk, also listed on the IDX. Alex led the acquisition of a majority stake in Bumi PLC by Borneo in 2011. From 2012 to 2015 Alex served as Director of LSE-listed Bumi PLC, Deputy President Commissioner/Deputy Chairman of the Board of IDX-listed PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk , as well as the subsidiary company PT Berau Coal. Concurrently he served as commissioner at PT Bumi Resources Tbk, PT Kaltim Prima Coal, and PT Arutmin Indonesia. Alex obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Boston University, starting his career as an investment banker at Lazard Frères & Co. He was appointed President Director on 23 September 2020.

Arief is a Singaporean citizen with extensive experience in the financial-services and corporate sectors. He began his career at Goldman Sachs New York in 1991 and later headed Goldman Sachs’ investment-banking operations in Southeast Asia. He was a member of the Commitment Committee, which oversees all investment banking transactions — except Japan — in Asia. Prior to joining AMMAN, Arief was Managing Director and served on the board of Rajawali Corpora, an Indonesian business group with investments in oil-palm plantations, gold and mining, hotels and luxury properties, transportation, infrastructure, and broadcast and print media. During that period, Arief held key positions in the Finance and Investment, Ethics, and Audit and Risk Management committees, as well as the Management Board. Arief graduated summa cum laude with two bachelor’s degrees in finance and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, then took an MBA program at Harvard Business School. Arief was appointed Director on 23 September 2020.

David Gibbs is an Australian citizen, a mining engineer with 40 years of international experience in large-scale mining copper and gold, diamonds, uranium, coal (thermal and coke), talc and nickel laterite. His experience includes both underground and open pit mining, primarily in South Africa, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Thailand, and Indonesia. David has held positions in feasibility study management, mine planning, operations, productivity improvement and cost reduction, research and due diligence, strategic planning, and project evaluation and development. He holds a BSc Hons degree in mining engineering, Mine Manager Certificate First Class for Western Australia and a Mine Manager Certificate from South Africa. He is an Associate of The Royal School of Mines (ASRM). and a Chartered Engineer (C Eng). David was appointed Director on 23 September 2020.

Dr. Naveen is an Indian citizen with 26 years of executive experience in global mining operations, commercial and commodity trading, acquisitions, mergers, and strategic development. He has extensive management experience in several industrial sectors. Prior to joining AMMAN in 2016, Dr. Naveen was CEO of RAK Minerals and Metals Investments FZC, United Arab Emirates from 2008 to 2012, before becoming President Director of Trimex International Indonesia from 2012 to 2016. He holds a master’s degree in chemistry and a doctorate from Jadavpur University, India. Dr. Naveen also graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He was appointed Director on 23 September 2020.

Irwin is an Australian citizen with global experience in the mining, earthworks, and engineering sectors, responsible for technical, operational, business and management matters for two decades. Irwin joined AMMAN in 2016 and was instrumental in the process of operational and cultural transformation during the ownership transition. Prior to joining AMMAN, Irwin held senior management positions in Leighton (Thiess) Contractors. He was an engineering adviser to the HKND Group on the Nicaragua Grand Canal project – at the time the largest earthworks and infrastructure project in the world. Previously, Irwin was Project Director and Head of Mining for ASX-listed Hunnu Coal Limited and the SET-listed energy company Banpu, which owns and operates coking coal mines in Mongolia. Irwin is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and qualified as a Competent Person for JORC Code reporting. Irwin holds two degrees in engineering with honors and three degrees in commerce (corporate finance, financial investment and accounting) from the University of Western Australia. Irwin was appointed Director on 17 February 2021.
