Mataram, January 13, 2023 – In a presentation on the achievements and operational business plans of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) to the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government on Tuesday (10/1), AMMAN Management also explained the progress of the project to early 2023. President Director of AMMAN, Rachmat Makkasau, said that the absorption of human resources (HR) for various projects since 2021 has increased by 35%. Hence, the total number of workers currently reaches 10,000 people, of which nearly 75% come from the NTB Province.

“During the last 1.5 years, when the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic began to subside, we began to accelerate our movements, including in terms of human resource recruitment, so that the various large projects we carried out could follow the timeline set at the beginning of the project. However, the war between Russia and Ukraine occurred, disrupting logistics and human resources mobility. This challenge caused targets that were set before the pandemic could not be achieved, “explained Rachmat.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, H. Lalu Gita Ariadi, stated that AMMAN’s business continuity is important because it absorbs thousands of human resources from NTB Province. Therefore, Lalu also supports the construction of the smelter so that it is completed under the new target. “There are 10,000 people who will lose their jobs if AMMAN’s operational business cannot continue. Therefore, the NTB Provincial Government and AMMAN are in the same interest, namely encouraging the smelter to be completed immediately according to the new target in 2024, then it can operate one year later in 2025. We understand that the constraints that occur are not within AMMAN’s control, so they cannot be taken lightly,” said Lalu.

Based on the verification results last semester, the AMMAN smelter has reached 47 percent. This achievement is based on the realization of the budget requirements for the smelter, including physical construction and the purchase of equipment and machinery for operations. The results of the semesterly verification carried out by an independent verifier state that AMMAN consistently achieves the targets set by the government. This shows the company’s commitment to continuing the construction of the smelter.
