AMMAN and Mastercard Drive Digital Transformation of MSMEs and Empower Women Entrepreneurs
West Sumbawa, 3 December 2025 – A wave of optimism and digital economic progress has reached Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Sumbawa (KSB). In the spirit of cross-sector collaboration, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), one of Indonesia's largest copper and gold mining companies, together with Mastercard, officially launched a strategic collaboration through the ‘Mastercard Strive’ program, implemented by Mercy Corps Indonesia.

This partnership, framed within a Joint Agreement with the KSB Government, places MSMEs at the center of change. It is not just a brief training but comprehensive assistance that combines digital skills, access to financial services, and ecosystem strengthening to enable MSMEs to grow independently and competitively. The program targets 300,000 MSMEs across various provinces, including West Nusa Tenggara, with an objective that 40% of the business owners are women.

Priyo Pramono, Vice President of Social Impact at AMMAN, stated that this collaboration is an integral part of AMMAN's sustainable Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), which focuses on building a solid economic foundation at the local level.

“MSME development is AMMAN’s effort to support the growth of entrepreneurship in KSB so that local MSMEs can grow to become a pillar of the local economy and simultaneously a driver of regional tourism. MSMEs in KSB have a lot of potential but require assistance to increase the capacity of MSME actors and strengthen the ecosystem that supports their business growth,” said Priyo.

On the other hand, Ade Soekadis, Executive Director of Mercy Corps Indonesia, added, “One of Mercy Corps Indonesia's main focuses is opening up wider access to economic opportunities and financial services for marginalized and vulnerable community groups, including MSMEs. Through this program, we are committed to providing the training and mentoring needed by MSMEs to become more empowered and resilient in the digital economy era.”

Three Pillars of Strength for the Future of KSB MSMEs

The Mastercard Strive program commenced in KSB at the end of November 2025, coinciding with the series of regional anniversary celebrations, and began with the training of local facilitators. Support for MSMEs is focused on three main pillars designed to accelerate growth and competitiveness:

  1. Go Digital: Bringing MSMEs to the global market through digital marketing training, platform integration, and cybersecurity.
  2. Get Capital: Opening access to capital through education and activation of Financial Services Institution (LJK) products and credit products.
  3. Ecosystem Strengthening: Reinforcing the business ecosystem through intensive training, mentoring, and learning networks.
Suryaman, S.STP, Head of the KSB Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag), enthusiastically welcomed the initiative, “The KSB Government is committed to making MSMEs the backbone of a progressive and independent economy. This collaboration with AMMAN and Mastercard is very timely. Digitalization and access to capital are key to enabling our MSMEs to compete in a broader market, reaching national and global levels. We fully support this program to achieve significant and sustainable economic impact, especially for women entrepreneurs,” he said.

MSME participants in the program, which is targeted to reach hundreds of business actors, will receive a comprehensive support package, ranging from Onboarding to the Micromentor platform, Smart Savings and Finance Training, Digital Marketing and Cybersecurity Training, to Financial Literacy Education and LJK Product Activation.

This initiative is more than just training; it is a transformative investment that promises a brighter future and a more resilient economy for the entire KSB community.
