Jakarta, 7 August 2023 – Persija Jakarta and PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMAN) are collaborating to further develop national football. The copper-and-gold mining company based in West Sumbawa (KSB), sponsored ten coaches from the local Football Academies (Sekolah Sepak Bola or SSB) to attend a National D License course held by Persija Jakarta football club at Nirwana Park, Depok, West Java, on 24 – 31 July 2023.
This license, issued by the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), is vital to bring regional coaches up to national standards. “Having this license means the coach has the competence and fundamental understanding to train football players properly. This standardization is important so that Indonesia has competitive young talents evenly distributed across all provinces, and the hope is to penetrate national and international competitions,” said Persija Development Coach Miskardi.
Besides the seven-day course, the coaches could immediately apply their new skills in a seven-day internship program.
“The program at Persija Development is highly valuable. I feel the atmosphere of coaching carried out by Persija is extraordinary. I now have a greater understanding of the importance of matching strategy and formation to the capacity and position of the players. This experience enables us to nurture KSB football from an early age, allowing us to compete effectively at the national level,” said Amri Pratama, a participant in the training program from KSB.
AMMAN Vice President of Social Impact, Priyo Pramono, explained that the National D License program and this internship are part of the company’s Community Development and Empowerment (Pengembangan dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat or PPM) initiative. In this case, it focuses on community empowerment through the #Sports4Development program.
“The opportunity to obtain a license and gain training experience with Persija will undoubtedly offer exceptional insights and expertise to coaches from KSB. We hope that this opportunity will be used to strengthen the football capacity of KSB. The progress of this program will be monitored regularly, and the positive results will form the foundation for expanding the program in the future,” explained Priyo.
This is the second program AMMAN has conducted with Persija. In August 2022, Persija legend Ismed Sofyan came to KSB to run a Coaching Clinic for thirty Under-15 (U-15) children selected by the West Sumbawa Football Association.
Miskardi remarked on the extraordinary enthusiasm of participants, which the other Persija
Development trainers greatly appreciated. “They have a strong desire to improve their skills. They pursue training and internships with enthusiasm and discipline. Hopefully, they will bring this knowledge and skills back to KSB to improve the local league. Developing football across the country is a mission shared by Persija and AMMAN. Hopefully, we can do it again in the future,” said Miskardi.
