West Sumbawa, 19 August 2022 – PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) held a coaching clinic, an intensive short training session for children, in Taliwang Square in West Sumbawa Regency (KSB). The clinic, was in cooperation with Indonesian Football Association (Persija) featuring national football legend Ismed Sofyan. In addition, the Persija Jakarta U-20 coach, Washyiatul Akmal, also gave a short training course for 30 children under 15 years old selected from eight sub-districts and member of the All-Indonesian Football Association team (PSSI Askab U-15). The coaching clinic was also attended by the Chairperson of the PSSI Askab KSB Amar Nurmansyah and his team.
AMMAN Senior Manager of Social Impact, Aji Suryanto, stated that this coaching clinic is part of the community development and empowerment program carried out by AMMAN. “One of the pillars of human-resource development that we focus on is sports because it can support the growth of physical prowess, leadership, and socialization. KSB has good young football talents. Therefore, we need to encourage children to be more motivated by cooperating with professional clubs that have competed in the best Indonesian leagues, as well as high-achieving players and coaches. This is one of the ways AMMAN creates the best legacy for the communities around our operational areas,” explained Aji.
The Chairperson of PSSI Askab U-15 KSB, Amar Nurmansyah, ST., M.Si, welcomed the coaching clinic, especially for the PSSI Askab KSB U-15 team. “The coaching clinic from AMMAN and Persija is very helpful not only in terms of soccer techniques, but also in inspiring our children to build their dreams of becoming professional athletes who can make the name of West Sumbawa Regency and the Indonesian nation proud. Hopefully this program will be sustainable so that we can plant the seeds of superior soccer athletes, ” said Amar.
The participants learned basic soccer techniques such as dribbling, passing, trapping and heading. Participants also learned advanced techniques such as corner kicks, throw-ins, penalty kicks, and team strategies used in competition like team formation proper attacking and defending.
In addition to demonstrating techniques and strategies, national football legend Ismed Sofyan also shared his experience of being a professional football player with more than 20 years in national and international leagues. “In becoming a professional footballer, self-consistency, high discipline and an attitude of sportsmanship must be nurtured from a young age. Therefore, I advise the younger members of the PSSI Askab U-15 team to appreciate the process they have gone through, because nothing can be achieved instantly, ” explained Ismed.
