AMMAN Gives Appreciation to Hundreds of Students of West Sumbawa Regency who Received AMMAN Scholars

West Sumbawa, 23 April 2024 – As part of the Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program from PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (“AMMAN”), one of the largest copper-and-gold mining companies in Indonesia, the company recently gave appreciation to over 200 students who received AMMAN’s scholarship program (AMMAN Scholars) during the ‘Halalbihalal and Gathering of AMMAN Scholars’ event which was held on 18 April 2024 in Taliwang, West Sumbawa Regency (KSB).

During this event, which parents, regional government representatives, and AMMAN management attended, AMMAN awarded students with stellar academic and non-academic achievements at regional and national levels for their hard work and excellence.

West Sumbawa Regional Secretary Amar Nurmansyah expressed his appreciation to AMMAN for this program, a key component of the drive to develop and empower the KSB community through education.

“Representing the KSB Regional Government, we express our highest appreciation and gratitude for AMMAN’s commitment to advancing the education and skills sector for the young people in KSB. This will benefit our future generations by equipping them with formal education, which will also grant them independence,” said Amar.

“AMMAN Scholars, one of the flagship programs of AMMAN PPM, is given top priority. We are proud of the talented youth in KSB and will continue to support their academic development and extracurricular activities that develop leadership values, confidence, and skills. Their impressive achievements motivate us to develop our programs further,” stated Priyo Pramono, Vice President of Social Impact at AMMAN.

Priyo added that KSB has the potential to provide competitive human resources, as demonstrated by the numerous achievements of the AMMAN Scholars, which are a source of pride and optimism for the future.

The AMMAN Scholars program is a corporate initiative to raise the skills and competitiveness of KSB youth through education and vocational training to deliver measurable social impacts. The program includes Scholarships for Leading Vocational High Schools, Outstanding Diploma-3 Scholarships, and a Football Fellowship with PSS Sleman.

Vocational education is an effective way to create job opportunities for the community. These programs are designed according to industrial needs and the government’s vision for developing the KSB region. AMMAN runs various vocational education scholarship programs in collaboration with training partners with recognized qualifications in the relevant fields.

Since 2021, AMMAN has partnered with eight Vocational High Schools (SMK), one college, and a domestic professional football club to direct the talents and interests of KSB students, underwrite education expenses and skills training, and provide career guidance for the beneficiaries.
