West Sumbawa, 3 February 2023 – PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) held a sharing session with Engineering Faculty students consisting of Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering students, and alumni of the Faculty of Engineering, Cordova University, West Sumbawa Regency (KSB). This activity commemorates the national Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Month, which takes place from 12 January to 12 February 2023. The sharing session aims to introduce the Mining Safety Management System (SMKP), owned and implemented in AMMAN’s operational activities. AMMAN Safety Health and Loss Prevention (SHLP) Manager Galuh Yudha Satria, presented this session. The Vice Chancellor III of the University of Cordova, Junaidi Efendi, S.T., M.T, also attended it.
Strengthening Educational Collaboration
Deputy Chancellor III of the University of Cordova Junaidi Efendi, S.T, M.T, expressed his appreciation for AMMAN, who introduced SMKP to students. “After collaborating in the field of education through the signing of an MoU with AMMAN a few days ago, today we are conducting a learning session on the application of safety in the mining industry with AMMAN. We hope that all participants can use this opportunity to gain knowledge as much as possible, especially for students of the Faculty of Engineering from the University of Cordova,” said Efendi.

Meanwhile, Vice President Corporate Communications AMMAN Kartika Octaviana appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the students during the presentation. “As a mining company with operational areas in West Sumbawa Regency, AMMAN has implemented SMKP based on Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 26 of 2018, concerning Implementation of Good Mining Principles and Supervision of Mineral and Coal Mining. An understanding of SMKP is essential for students who will pursue a career in the mining industry. This effort is one of our ways to support human resource capacity development around our operational areas,” explained Kartika.

In the presentation session, AMMAN emphasized that the company’s top priority is safety and health at work. One of AMMAN’s SMKP cycles is also used as a guide to Good Mining Engineering Principles, covering points including Policy, Planning, Organization and Personnel, Implementation, Evaluation and Follow-up, Documentation, and Management Review. AMMAN’s commitment to implementing Occupational Health and Safety has also been proven by receiving the SNI ISO 45001:2018 certificate regarding the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) from PT SUCOFINDO.
