Jakarta, 20 November 2025 – PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (“AMNT”), a subsidiary of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (“AMMAN”), has successfully fulfilled all assessment indicators required for The Copper Mark, an international assurance framework, for its Batu Hijau mining operations in West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. This achievement further strengthens AMMAN’s position as a global copper producer committed to continuously elevating its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance in line with international benchmarks.
The Copper Mark is an assurance framework specifically designed for the copper industry to ensure that participants across the entire copper value chain adopt responsible production practices and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
AMNT President Director, Rachmat Makkasau, stated that this accomplishment reaffirms AMMAN’s sustainability principles across all operational aspects. “Throughout our operations in Batu Hijau, we strive to consistently apply responsible practices—from environmental management and respect for human rights to legal compliance and community empowerment. Being awarded The Copper Mark serves as independent, third-party validation of our long-standing commitment,” said Rachmat.
Meanwhile, AMNT’s Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Richard Fischer, emphasized that this milestone reflects AMMAN’s strong sustainability systems. “Two years ago, AMNT signed a Letter of Commitment (LoC) with The Copper Mark. Since then, we have continued to work diligently to enhance all 32 assessment areas. We greatly appreciate the comprehensive guidance provided by The Copper Mark, which has enabled us to adopt high standards across our ESG practices,” he said.
Developed by the International Copper Association and guided by a Board of Directors and Advisory Council comprising environmental and human rights experts, The Copper Mark represents a globally recognized framework for responsible copper production. AMMAN’s full conformance with all Copper Mark criteria reinforces Indonesia’s contribution—through its mining sector—to advancing sustainability and ethical business practices on the global stage.
