Cerita Sasambo 2025: A Testament to the Quality of NTB Journalism in Championing Regional Progress
West Sumbawa, 12 December 2025 – Every story of progress carved out in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has eyewitnesses, and journalists are undoubtedly among them. They are the ones who weave narratives about innovation, sustainability, and tangible impact that often go unnoticed.

Today, amid the enthusiasm of the regional press, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), one of Indonesia's largest copper and gold mining companies, officially announced the winners of the journalism award ‘Cerita Sasambo 2025’.

More than just a competition, Cerita Sasambo is a sincere tribute to the dedication of media professionals who have dared to explore the other side of the mining industry: the responsible, progressive, and positively impactful side for the community.

Kartika Octaviana, Vice President of Corporate Communications at AMMAN, emphasized the critical role of the press in building the regional image. She explained that AMMAN organized the ‘Cerita Sasambo 2025’ as a form of gratitude to journalists who have served as the bridge between readers and the stories of progress in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“We organize Cerita Sasambo 2025 as our highest form of appreciation for journalists who have been the bridge connecting readers with the proud stories of NTB’s progress,” said Kartika. “These works prove that collaboration between an independent journalistic world and industry can give birth to positive narratives, strengthen a quality NTB press ecosystem, and, of course, make local communities proud of their region,” she added.

Enthusiasm that Exceeded Targets

The competition, which covered three main regions – Lombok, West Sumbawa, and Sumbawa – successfully attracted extraordinary attention. A total of 152 high-quality journalistic works were submitted to the judging panel by 68 journalists from 48 media organizations.

Journalists competed under two key themes that are the focus of NTB's future: (1) Innovation and Technology and (2) Sustainability and Social Impact. The best works were judged in the Online & Print Media Category and the Social Media Category (photo, video, infographic content).

“We congratulate all media professionals whose works received the highest appreciation, and also all 68 journalists who participated in this year's Cerita Sasambo. Your works have inspired all of us,” Kartika concluded.

Cerita Sasambo serves as a consistent platform to encourage and celebrate NTB journalism, with the hope that this event will continue to grow into a shared, proud tradition of weaving the stories of Sasambo's progress.
