West Sumbawa, 27 March 2026 – Career opportunities in the heavy equipment industry are expanding for the youth of West Sumbawa and Sumbawa. PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), one of Indonesia’s largest copper and gold mining companies, has officially launched the Heavy Equipment Mechanic Scholarship Program (Batch I). This initiative aims to scout and train local talent to become professional mechanics meeting national and global industry standards.
The program is a strategic collaboration between AMMAN, the Vocational Training Centers (BLK) of West Sumbawa and Sumbawa Regencies, and UT School. This initiative underscores AMMAN’s commitment to the vision of a ‘Greater West Sumbawa and Sumbawa’ by enhancing the quality of local human resources.
Beyond technical training, this scholarship is designed as a long-term investment to produce a highly competent and competitive workforce.
“We see immense potential in the youth of West Sumbawa and Sumbawa. Through this scholarship, AMMAN aims to provide broad access to high-quality vocational education. We want local talent to be the primary drivers of the industry, not just spectators,” said Aji Suryanto, Senior Manager of Social Impact at AMMAN.

Eligibility Criteria
The program is open to young locals who meet the following requirements:
- Native of West Sumbawa (KSB) or Sumbawa (KS) (verified by Family Card)
- Maximum age of 24 years and minimum height of 160 cm
- Physically and mentally fit (non-color blind, no tattoos, and no piercings)
- High school/Vocational school (SMA/SMK) graduates with a minimum average grade of 7.0
- Strong interest in heavy equipment
- Agree to remain unmarried during the training period and willing to be stationed anywhere after graduation
- Active member of BPJS Kesehatan
Selection and Training Phases
- Selection Process: Administrative Screening → Physical Test, Psychological Test, & Interview → Medical Check-Up (MCU).
- Training Curriculum:
- Mental and Physical Discipline Training (Bintalsik).
- In-Class Training: 4 months.
- On-the-Job Training (OJT): 8 months.
- Outcome: Competency certification and job placement.
