West Sumbawa, 24 July 2026 – PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMAN) has reached a major milestone in its business transformation with the successful completion of its copper smelter project in West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The achievement was formalized through the signing of a Completion and Project Acceptance Certificate (PAC) between AMMAN and its strategic partner, China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (NFC), at NFC’s headquarters in Beijing, China, on 18 July 2026.
The signing of the PAC signifies the completion of all construction and commissioning related punch points within the contractual scope. Though the AMMAN copper smelter has already been in operation for more than 1 year now, with the achievement of this milestone, the smelter has successfully passed the performance guarantee test as stipulated in the contract and has officially entered its long-term operational phase.
AMMAN President Director Arief Sidarto stated that the completion of the project reflects the dedication and collaboration of many parties in bringing one of the world’s most advanced integrated copper smelting and refining complexes.

NFC Chairman Liu Yu noted that the successful completion of the AMMAN smelter project demonstrates the strength of international collaboration in advancing large-scale, high-value mineral processing industries.
As a National Strategic Project (PSN), the AMMAN copper smelter is designed to process up to 900,000 metric tonnes of concentrate annually sourced from the Batu Hijau mine and, in the future, the Elang mine. The integrated complex will produce high-purity copper cathodes, gold, silver, sulphuric acid and selenium that support industries critical to economic growth and the global energy transition. From renewable energy infrastructure and electric mobility to digital technologies and advanced manufacturing, these products will play an important role in meeting growing global demand for critical minerals.
Through advanced processing technologies and world-class environmental systems, the complex has been engineered to deliver high metal recovery, enhanced energy efficiency, operational reliability and responsible resource utilization.
This achievement marks the beginning of a new phase for AMMAN as a fully integrated mining and mineral processing company. The completion of the smelter also strengthens Indonesia’s downstream minerals ecosystem and enhances the value creation of the country’s mineral resources in the global market.
