Kudus, October 31, 2025 – PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), one of Indonesia's largest copper and gold mining companies, in collaboration with the Kudus Teacher Learning Center (Pusat Belajar Guru Kudus) facilitated by the Bakti Pendidikan Djarum Foundation, is taking a strategic role in the national effort to strengthen the foundation of early childhood education.
Through the Training of Trainers for Computational Thinking Implementation in ECE program, prospective trainers from various provinces across Indonesia delved into the concepts of computational thinking and its application in early childhood learning. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education’s push to introduce Coding and Artificial Intelligence Learning (KKA) at the ECE level.
Priyo Pramono, Vice President of Social Impact at AMMAN, emphasized the critical importance of collaboration between the education sector and industry to ensure the success of this program. “Our experience in West Sumbawa and Kudus demonstrates that computational thinking is a vital foundation for shaping a generation with an adaptive mindset. Its potential will be even greater if instilled from an early age. By collaborating with educators and stakeholders from various provinces, we hope this step will accelerate the emergence of human resources ready to compete toward Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045),” said Priyo.
As a partner involved from the outset, AMMAN plays a key role in developing the training materials and methodology. Eight ECE teachers, including educators from West Sumbawa—AMMAN’s operation area which has already implemented the flagship PAUD Prestasi (Achieving ECE with Computational Thinking) program—contributed to this process. The resulting guidebooks and training modules will serve as a reference for future training sessions and for the broader implementation of computational thinking at the ECE level, both regionally and nationally.
The application of this concept has already yielded tangible results. Since 2023, the computational thinking approach has been adopted by over 135 teachers and principals from 29 ECE units in West Sumbawa, facilitated by AMMAN. This achievement is part of a wider national movement where over 700 principals and teachers from 211 ECE units across Indonesia have integrated computational thinking through mentorship from various educational partners.
Suparto, Director of Early Childhood Education and Non-Formal Education Teachers (Guru PAUD dan PNF), underscored the essential role of teachers in facing future challenges. “Coding and artificial intelligence learning are not merely trends; they are fundamental necessities in preparing the younger generation for future challenges. ECE teachers play a highly strategic role in instilling the foundation of computational thinking from an early age—a logical and systematic thinking ability that is the basis for solving complex problems in various fields. Therefore, developing teachers' capacity in implementing computational thinking is our priority program,” explained Suparto.
In the process of preparing the guidebooks and training materials, the teachers were mentored by Dr. Irma Yuliantina, M.Pd, Head of the ECE Working Group at the National Accreditation Board for Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education (BAN PDM), along with the Bebras Indonesia team. This collaboration ensures that the training material is not only academically relevant but also highly applicable in practice.
The Training of Trainers held in Kudus until October 31, 2025, was attended by 38 participants, consisting of ECE teachers and principals from 15 provinces across Indonesia, including representatives from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). During the training, participants will learn the computational thinking concept and how to integrate it into the national ECE curriculum through a deep-learning approach. The participants are expected to become trainers capable of disseminating this knowledge to more teachers in their respective regions, thereby expanding the positive impact of programs like the one pioneered by AMMAN in West Sumbawa.
