Boosting Local Economy: AMMAN and Narasa Empower MSME and Tourism Sector in West Sumbawa

West Sumbawa, 24 January 2024 – In a bid to bolster micro, small, and medium enterprises (SME) and tourism in West Sumbawa, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) has joined forces with Narasa Indonesia to provide training, mentoring, and business development programs for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and youth in West Sumbawa (KSB).

The first batch of the SINERGI and SELARAS program was started at the end of 2021 and continued to the second batch in 2023. The two batches have empowered 32 MSME and 15 young entrepreneurs in West Sumbawa. Participants have achieved meaningful milestones such as product certification, forming point-of-sales collaborations, re-branding, financial growth, intellectual property registration, and legal business registration.

“Sustainability has always been a paramount pillar for us at AMMAN. We believe the company’s sustainability goes hand-in-hand with the welfare and development of the surrounding community, aligning with our vision to create a legacy of best for the nation. The SINERGI and SELARAS programs represent our commitment to reinforce the empowerment of MSME and youth in West Sumbawa to support local economy, together with the local government,” said Priyo Pramono, Vice President of Social Impact at AMMAN.

Narasa CEO Devina Sandriani added, “Through the SINERGI and SELARAS programs, MSME have been able to create products with marketable standards, both at KSB and outside KSB, in collaboration with various point-of-sales, and their turnover has increased during the program. In addition, youths have acquired clients and provided graphic design services, earning their own income,” she said.

AMMAN is committed to continuing to support MSME and KSB youth, including guidance, advanced training, and access to business networks that can help them grow and develop.

The KSB regional government prioritizes the development of the MSME sector. This sector continues to grow, transforming local workers into independent entrepreneurs. According to the NTB Satu Data database, the number of MSME in KSB reached 7,829 (2021). This number significantly increased compared to the 6,042 MSME registered the previous year.
