In Indonesia, education is highly valued, with families prioritizing it just below food and shelter. However, the cost of technical education often poses a challenge for families, especially those living in rural areas. Recognizing the need to develop a skilled workforce, AMMAN has launched the D3 Unggulan AMMAN Scholars program. This scholarship initiative aims to provide diploma-level education to fostering local talent and bridge the gap between education and industry needs.
Collaborating with PINTAR and AstraTech, the D3 Unggulan AMMAN Scholars program ensures that the curriculum aligns with the demands of the post-industrial economy, equipping students with the advanced skills necessary to thrive. The program received an overwhelming response, with 137 applicants from the Sumbawa (KS) and West Sumbawa (KSB) regions. After a rigorous selection process, 50 candidates were chosen. These promising individuals demonstrated their potential through various screenings and interviews. Their dedication and passion set them apart, making them ideal candidates for the scholarship program.
On 16 September 2023, the selected candidates embarked on a transformative journey to Jakarta. Over the next three years, they will study at Politeknik Astra in Cikarang, West Java. This polytechnical institution, supported by ASTRA, one of the most innovative manufacturers in Indonesia, offers a comprehensive range of courses, including Production Engineering and Manufacturing Process (TPM), Mechatronics, Manufacturing Equipment and Production Tools (P4), Building Construction Technology (TKBG), and Information Management. These specialized programs will equip the scholars with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their future careers.
The D3 Unggulan AMMAN Scholars program not only provides educational opportunities but also empowers local communities. By investing in the education, AMMAN is fostering human capital development in the region as part of its Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program. AMMAN believes that education is not just about producing graduates, but nurturing a new generation possessing the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the global economy.
