Jakarta, 3 October 2024 - One of the largest copper and gold mining companies in Indonesia, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara ("AMNT"), a subsidiary of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk ("AMMAN"), marks another notable achievement by winning several awards at the prestigious Good Mining Practice Award 2024. This award is presented to mineral and coal mining companies in recognition of their commitment to good mining practices.
AMNT received the highest award: the Good Mining Practice Trophy for Best Technical Mining Management. AMNT also received three additional awards: Aditama Award for Technical Management of Mineral Mining, Utama Award for Mineral Conservation Management, and Utama Award for Environmental Management of Mineral Mining. These mirror the three similar awards AMMAN received at last year's Good Mining Practice Award 2023.
PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara President Director Rachmat Makkasau stated that this award reflects his company's commitment to excellence in all aspects of the business. “This award demonstrates our determination to implement sustainable principles by fostering innovation in our operations. We are proud of our achievements to date and continue to build on our four pillars of sustainability: improving human resources, upholding ethics, preserving the environment, and managing resources,” said Rachmat.
In its operations, AMNT runs various sustainable initiatives to promote operational sustainability, including, among others, concurrent land reclamation, community-based nursery management, conservation of water sources, and preservation of the Gili Balu marine conservation area. These programs are designed to preserve the environment and empower local communities, keeping with the company’s mission of creating a legacy of best for future generations.
Since 2020, the Indonesian Directorate General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has presented Good Mining Practice awards to recognize mining companies for their achievements in applying good mining practices and to motivate operators to continue improving performance.
This award assesses five primary aspects: conservation, technical-mining supervision, environmental-protection supervision, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) supervision, and mining-service efforts.
