West Sumbawa, August 21, 2025 – One of Indonesia's largest copper and gold mining companies, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), has officially launched ‘Cerita Sasambo 2025’, an open competition dedicated to journalists in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The competition aims to recognize the best journalistic works on the themes of innovation, technology, and social and environmental sustainability in the mining sector.
AMMAN's Vice President of Corporate Communications, Kartika Octaviana, stated that the competition is a form of AMMAN's commitment to continuously support the growth of an independent and high-quality press ecosystem in NTB.
"‘Cerita Sasambo 2025’ is a stage for journalists to show their skills in crafting narratives about the progress and positive impact of responsible mining that have not been widely told. We hope this event can inspire more positive stories from the land of NTB for the wider community," said Kartika.
Competition Categories and Themes
The competition is open for two main categories:
- Online & Print Media Category Open to active journalists working for online or print media outlets. Works can be in the form of news articles, feature articles, or in-depth articles.
- Social Media Category Open to editorial teams or managers of official media accounts. Content can be in the form of photos, videos, infographics, or other formats.
This year, "Cerita Sasambo 2025" features two themes:
- Innovation and Technology Highlights the application and innovation of the latest technology in AMMAN's mining operations, from upstream to downstream, as well as various research and development across different aspects of mining.
- Sustainability and Social Impact Features corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs carried out by AMMAN for both the community and the environment.
Participants can submit a maximum of three works per theme, in one or both categories.
Total Prizes of Hundreds of Millions of Rupiah
AMMAN is providing a total of hundreds of millions of rupiah in prizes for 24 winners from across NTB, with an independent and professional judging process. For each winner in the three regions (Lombok, West Sumbawa, Sumbawa), the prizes are as follows:
- 1st Place: IDR 15,000,000
- 2nd Place: IDR 10,000,000
- 3rd Place: IDR 7,500,000
Kartika concluded her statement with the hope that ‘Cerita Sasambo 2025’ will not only be a competition but also a space for positive collaboration between the world of journalism and the responsible mining industry.
"Through the works born from this competition, we hope the public can see more of the progress and collaborative spirit from NTB that is worth being proud of," she added.
